She loves the little things in life as it sets her on a positive track throughout the day. Let’s hear more from her.

Can you tell us about yourself?
I’m Poonam and I live in Gouda with my husband. We are both from India, where we grew up. I did my postgraduate in Marketing and Sales. After graduating I worked in banking and sales for a few years. I got into IT when I started working at Capgemini. Capgemini is also where I met my husband. He moved to Amsterdam in 2015 and I followed him in 2016. When I moved to the Netherlands I got introduced to Salesforce and I’ve been working with Salesforce ever since. We both really appreciate Dutch people, the country and the Dutch way of life.
What did you do prior to this?
I was working as a Junior Salesforce Consultant, where I helped clients tackle business challenges. I focused on implementing the Sales and Service Cloud. To me Salesforce is a very intuitive and user-friendly tool. It intrigues me, and as I love and understand sales, it was my goal delivering solutions so my clients could reach their full potential.

Why did you choose Appsolutely joins Valtech?
I was looking for a company that understands what I want, and I felt like Appsolutely joins Valtech did. The interviews were very easy-going. I had an instant click and a good laugh with Carlo, Robbert, Jaap and Floor. I immediately felt the human touch, which is very important to me. But they also understood my aspiration of growing. My short-term goal is getting on top of everything that is going on in Salesforce, which I will be doing by getting new certificates. I also want to immerse myself within the team as soon as possible. Get to know my colleagues and try to find my feet in a new environment. Another challenge would be understanding the work and the projects but also the culture of the people and the company.
What are you passionate about, both personally and professionally?
I’m passionate about experiencing and learning new cultures and different cuisines. The key to maximize every experience is to enjoy the little things in life. I always try to take it all in – on my walks through the polder or when riding my bike – even when it’s cold or raining. My favorite thing is strolling around flea markets, looking for little knick knacks, antiques, jewelry and other bargains. You never know what you will find there.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m a caring, loving and empathic person. I’m very talkative but also have a good listening ear. I like to be around people, and I believe that they enjoy my company as well.

I hope that I will be working in an environment where I can grow, contribute and be a valuable team-member. Ultimately my ambition is to grow into an architect role.
What is a good workday for you?
A good day would be when I have completed all my tasks and I can reflect on what I have accomplished that day. To me it’s important that my clients are happy, and I had a good interaction with my colleagues about the projects we’re working on. I love my work but it’s also important to balance out your work and your personal life.
